About the event

Our National Quality Standards set the expectation that all educators will understand the theories which underpin the Early Years Learning Framework. This is a great day for any educators wanting to meet this expectation and who are interested in knowing more about the theories and approaches that drive our current practices in early childhood. There is no expectation of prior knowledge. We will discuss the individual theorists, how their ideas are reflected in our curriculum and quality standards, and how to link theory to learning (in practice and documentation). Some of the theorists/approaches we will discuss include (but are not limited to):

  • Jean Piaget
  • Lev Vygotsky
  • Erik Erikson
  • John Bowlby
  • Mildred Parten
  • Loris Malaguzzi (Reggio)
  • Maria Montessori
  • Rudolph Steiner

Presented by: Owner/Director Kate (bio under philosophy tab). Resource kit and lunch included.
