About the event

Another NESA endorsed course, this is our most popular session and always manages to stop any thoughts that theory might be boring or outdated! As Kate explores each of the theories she will explain how they are supported by current research (particularly brain development).

The revised NQS expects all educators to have an understanding of the theory that underpins our national curriculum (EYLF). This is why we have chosen the theorists we have for this exploration, and we will make these links clear as we move through each theorist. Some of the theorists/approaches we will discuss include (but are not limited to):

  • Jean Piaget
  • Lev Vygotsky
  • Erik Erikson
  • John Bowlby
  • Mildred Parten
  • Loris Malaguzzi (Reggio)
  • Maria Montessori
  • Rudolph Steiner

Presented by: Owner/Director Kate (bio under philosophy tab). Resource kit and lunch included.

Completing this course will contribute 6 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered PD addressing 6.2.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
