About the event

Our quality improvement process is what drives the change and development of your service, thus leading to best outcomes for children, families and educators. With NSW introducing a new star system to display service ratings, there is bound to be increasing focus on the quality improvement, and assessment and rating process.

The QIP is an important part of this process as it is the first impression an Authorised Officer will have of your service, and documents your improvement journey. There is a lot that goes in to writing a QIP which is a meaningful and detailed representation of your practice, and even more that goes in to making it a true driver of quality in your service.

In this session, in addition to looking at techniques that can be applied to writing a strong quality improvement plan, we will also explore how as a team, you can embed quality improvement (and reflective practice) in to the culture of your service to ensure the best chance of effectively improving service practice and demonstrating your quality at A&R.  We will focus on the following areas:

  • Self assessment - a place to start
  • Developing a meaningful Quality Improvement Plan
  • Involving all stakeholders in the process
  • What’s reflective practice got to do with it?
  • Quality Improvement and mentorship
  • Promoting professional environments

Includes resource kit and lunch. Presented by: Owner/Director Kate (bio under philosophy tab).

Completing this course will contribute 5 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Registered PD addressing 6.2.2, 6.3.2, 7.3.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
