About the event

Working with children with additional needs can be challenging and requires understanding of the need in question. In this professional development will will discuss a range of needs and the strategies we can employ as early childhood educators to work with children and their families. There will be a primary focus on the autistic spectrum (including PDD and asperges) and ADD/ADHD. We will also discuss savant syndrome and high intelligence. Topics covered will include:

  • Identifying additional needs
  • Working with families towards assessment
  • The circle of security
  • Education and Family Plans
  • Strategies for regulation
